Married, 1859/1860 Oline Ivarsdatter Sylvarnes, daughter of Ivar Ivarson Sylvarnes and Gjertrud Olsdatter Finden, b in Vik, SF, December 1, 1841, d March 4, 1920. She emigrated from Vik, SF, in 1857. Both vuried in the West St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, Dodge Co., MN. Born 19 Feb 1846 in Sogndal, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, son of Ellend Trondsen Quale and Dordei Baardsdatter Quale. He at the age of four months came to America with his parents and five siblings on the “Juno”, which sailed from Bergen and arrived in New York on 18 Jun 1846. They went to Christiania Township, Dane County. Civil War: Age 18. Farmer. Unmarried. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’5”. Enlisted for three years on 2 Jan 1864 at Stoughton, Wisconsin. Mustered 21 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Recruit. Was in the battles of Fort DeRussy, Louisiana, April 1864; Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, 8 Apr 1864; Lake Chicot, Arkansas, 6 Jun 1864; and at Nashville, Tennessee, 15 & 16 Dec 1864. Mustered out 22 Jun 1865. Post war: Lived at Long Prairie, Minnesota.
